Beach Breaks in the Bay
Limited Edition prints also available from £70 - please see print shop for more details.
80cm x 65cm canvas - framed with a 5cm deep, white wood tray frame
Carbis Bay has a fairly inconsistent swell but when it does see waves they are more often breaking very close to the shoreline. I wanted the wave crest to appear to be jumping out at the viewer in this piece. One simple, clean wave rolling into this beautiful bay.
As with all of this collection, the white water detail has been built up using offcuts of fibreglass, a by-product of surfboard manufacturing and given to Gemma by Newquay based surfboard shaper Rochfort Customs. These offcuts are non recyclable so by Gemma re-purposing them into her art, she is helping the shaper be one step closer to being zero waste.
If you are interested in a zoom or video call to do a virtual viewing of an original piece, please contact Gemma.
Please allow up to 7 working days for delivery.
