Creating Waves from Waste
Gemma’s signature in all her work is texture, she turns your beach memories into something you can not only see, but feel in your home. She does this using these two unique elements:
SAND - using a sprinkling of sand collected from the exact beach your memory is from. Each location giving different colours and size of grain, creating a completely bespoke look with each piece.
RE-PURPOSED MATERIALS - up-cycling other peoples waste, such as fibreglass offcuts from surfboard manufacturing, to take the texture in her work to another dimension. Her sculptural, 3D works are so tactile that you want to reach out and touch them.
